Up to Stuff

What kind of stuff? Well I got fired from my job. Ok, not really, they let me go because they did not need me now that spring is over and they want me back next year. So that is good. Now that I am done with work there I can do stuff at home I won't bore you with that list. But today I was cleaning our shop and when I say clean I do not mean shove everything in a corner I mean go through each box of STUFF and sort it. Well it really hit me that there are as many different bolts, nuts, washer, screws, etc as there are species of insects. It felt rather funny when I would pick one up and it just didn't look like it was even close to anything else and I thought I better put it with the other mutations. Cleaning a shop is unlike cleaning any other place you find a grease gun then you find a black sock, oh and what is this a loaded shotgun shell. Well I have to go we have company.
I might post pictures later.

A Memorial Day Tribute

Wake up, wake up, come on Henry wake up. Henry sat up knowing that not all was right, well
as right as things can be in an American Marine camp in the middle of Vietnam. "What is going on?" Henry asked. "No time now," said the voice that Henry now recognised as Miller his Marine
buddy. Grabbing his gun and helmet he ran outside, where the image that met his eyes was gut wrenching. In the middle of the camp lay what was once a troop of Marine infantry in other places pieces of tent red with blood lay scattered across the ground, while screams of agony from wounded soldiers rent the air. While his mind was still in shock he was aware of Miller pulling at his shirt. He started following Miller to were he could hear artillery and gun fire. They finally came in site of the fight. It looked as though the Marines had beat the enemy back enough so there artillery could not not reach the camp. Bodies and body parts showed that it had not been easy. Henry was vomiting profusely, sick with the site and smell of death. He finally got control of himself enough to ask what to do next. "I am going to run to that bunker." said Miller,"you cover me. Henry watched as Miller ran across the field, BANG there was a blinding flash of light, Miller was gone. Henry now saw that it was a mine field. But he had no time to think about that cause now he heard a group men walking up from behind him and they were not whispering English. He held his gun up, they were very near, he pulled the trigger. Nothing happened, he opened the chamber it was empty. Cold sweat poured down his face, the men had stopped whispering. He had no ammo.

Wake up, wake up, come on Henry wake up. Henry was gripping his pillow the cold sweat still on his face, his wife shaking his arm. It was 54 years later.

This Memorial Day let us remember those who lived.

Whoo is it?

I found a baby owl down in our woods yesterday and could not believe I was carrying a
camera. Then I came back today and it was still there so we got lots of pictures of baby owl.
Because the whole family got a chance to take pictures. So if you see baby owls showing up a lot
on blogs that is the reason.
Top: This is a second one Douglas found about 5 ft. up in a fallen branch.
The one below is different.
He really got into the whole picture taking thing.

This is proof of spring.

Life Goes On

Well the life of Chip is going great, but when I say great I do not mean that I always think so.
And I am not going to go into all the excuses why I have not blogged since Easter, except that have been working full time, woodcarving, drawing, doing TKD, eating three meals a day, sleeping reading, brushing my teeth, folding my cloths(wait do I fold them?) some of them, and a TON more. Ok, hmmmm what more do you want to know. Well I am not sure. I have some pictures.
That sounds cool.
Here are the troops just before they are going to head out on a
mission of high danger.
I went to the 3r wood carving show. Something funny is going on with my post. Well I lost half the pictures
I wanted to post. Maybe I will post them later. Plus I can not type in between
The pictures without it doing funny stuff. Top: this carving was done by a ninety
year old man that had been doing it since he was 17. Middle: I really liked this
bowl. Bottom: This was one piece of wood carved into 3 interlocking sticks.
Well I have work tomorrow and it is almost 12:00 so adi adi adie... Good bye
and good night.

Picture This

Here are the pictures I promised were coming. These are some of my latest carvings.
The one above had some pretty small cuts. The one below was done
mostly by my teacher, but I got to do some and learned a ton about
carving faces.

The one above I took at my Aunt and Uncle's. I call it Reflected
in Time.

Joel is staying with us and having a great time.
We went hiking in Tennessee with our grandma and grandpa
on our way back from Florida and I found this stone on the hike.
You have to like moss. Green and fuzzy.
The one on top is not from Tennessee but I thought it was COOL.
This is from Tennessee and pictures do not do justice.
This was really pretty.
That is grandma.
It was really green in Tennessee.
I took this picture so that it says something different.
The tire is thing on your car that makes contact with the road.
And yes I am tired too. And since tomorrow is Easter I
should head for my bed.

HE HAS RISEN It is officially Easter.
