Fall and Apples

Ah, Fall, can't beat it. The cold nip in the air with the smell of smoke and an apple in hand.
Sometimes you really got to reach. But it is worth the crisp sweetness. Oh. And the apple cobbler. Yum!!

Labor Day Weekend

This picture is from about a week ago when we had a bad storm.

For those of you who do not know it, paintball is sooooooo fun. Or as Mr. H would say, "uh dude." Oh, and school started today, sweet. And I also finished a wonderful labor day weekend yesterday; did paintball, and met the parents of an astronaut. How did I manage that you ask? Well, I will tell you.

On Friday are family went to Jamestown to metal detect but since we were not finding a whole lot my mom thought that it would fun to go to an antique shop. After finding one closed and another a falsely so-called antique shop, some people there told us of a home where a husband and wife had a never ending garage sale with many antique goods.

To make a long story short we found out that the man and his wife are the parents of an astronaut who had been on three shuttle missons and who had done space walks. He was from good old ND.

So that was cool. And they where also Christians which made it even more awesome.

That was really sweet. So those were some of the highlights of my labor day weekend. I could tell about other fun stuffI did this weekend but I am ready to do something else now.

And you would be even more bored.

Potato Days

The demo derby which is a whole lot of fun to watch.
Are TKD demo which was also a lot of fun.
Potato lifting. See how high you can lift a hundred lb. of potatos.
And there is a whole lot more such as potato eating,
potato sculpting (which I did and is very fun), paintball, potato
peeling, car show etc... It is a pretty fun time.

I am Blessed

Even though I complain and am dissatisfied with a couple of things, I often do not
take enough time to think about all the things that give me joy. Like today my mom and dad
celebrated 30 years of marriage, which unfortunately is becoming less common;
and my brothers and sisters who make me laugh or make me think which I
would rarely do otherwise. Not to say they are angels but are actually (sometimes)
some of those prieveously mentioned things. I guess the point is, we need
to think more of the things in our lives that give us joy. Otherwise we become more
and more dissatisfied with what we see, so that the more we sit in our high chair
looking down all those things that dissatisfy us, and we think that some how
we are better. When in truth we are more often being worse than them by thinking that.
So, think on those things which give you joy. Phil-4-8

Great Great Grandpa's

Here is me on the top... no that is the side... turn your head.
There I am on top of my great great grandpa's windmill.

Here is the camping part.

This is what is left of my gg grandpa's farm. There used to

be a barn, house, carriage house, and blacksmith shop. Yet all that is left

standing is the grainary and wind mill even though they are

leaning too. I thought about this, how my gg grandpa must

have spent his time and energy into building a great farm that

must have been grand in it's time, but now all that is left is a

bunch of junk. It makes me wonder what will become of what

I do. Ecclesiastes 1:1-8

Hot and Muggy

I have always noticed the way that people who come up north always talk about the harsh
cold weather, but for all they say about it I feel that the summers are the worst because of
the humidaty and mosquitoes. Just warning those who think they would like to move here
for the winter weather.

We had fun.

At our friend's the K's house.
Hi, I am Jak and I would like to tell how this Grand Canyon
was formed with millions of... gallons of water.

It is so... Grand. The pictures never capture it.
This was the bridge to the Island where we went to the beach

and got to swim with dolphins in the ocean which was unexpected

and fun. I might post some more later but am tired. Yes, we are home

safe by the grace of God and are happy to be home.

Hyped

I am feeling hyped. I am going on vacation to see my sister, mybrother, my sister-in-law, my nephew, and some friends who I have not seen in a long time, plus it will be the first time I have been to a climate with palm trees. We get to go to the ocean and a bunch of other fun stuff.
So you may be able to see why I am hyped. I am very thankful to have brothers and sisters,
though I might regret saying that after being in the car with them for many hours lol. I hope
anyone else that may be traveling this summer will have fun and that God will keep you safe.
