Daily Dose

Laughter is supposed to be good for you, the bible even says it doth  good like medicine.  So here is your daily dose.  And sometimes we laugh because it's true.

When Pastor Jackson over at second Presbyterian got fed up with all the excuses folks give for not attending church he offered his own list: "Ten Reasons Not to Wash."
1. I was forced to as a child.
2. People who wash are hypocrites-- they think they are cleaner than everybody else.
3. There are so many different kinds of soap, I can't decide which is best.
4. I used to wash, but got bored and stopped.
5. I only wash on special occasions, like Christmas and Easter.
6. None of my friends wash.
7. I'll start washing when I get older and dirtier.
8. I can't spare the time.
9. The bathroom is never warm enough in the winter or cool enough in the summer..
10. People who make soap are only after your money.

And just one more.  The evolutionary scientist after many years of intensive research and failure finally synthetically created a living cell.  He announced proudly the next day at his
press conference, " ahem, ladies and gentlemen yesterday as you know I proved that it takes no intelligence to create life."

Happy Anniversary

This picture was taken 32 years ago and is a record of one of the greatest promises made by man, because it is an example of the promise God gave.
I thank God many times for giving me the parents I have, ones who not only remain true and faithful to each other, but faithful to God, and have made sure that there children grow in the Lord.   Happy 32nd Mom and Dad.

Latest Woodworkings

Getting back to the workshop, it is great.  I sort of pulled these two off
and got them done on time for my Grandma's surprise birthday party.  I am
working on an owl that will hopefully be done in not to long.

All Mixed Up... or is that Down??

Just to prove it actually was/is broken.

Some people think it is an insult to be told they look like a dog, I wonder what dogs think.

Makes me want to go see what's on the other side.

Crop circles, I love looking at stuff from up high.
Walking to my connection flight to Long Beach CA.  It is weird to walk through an
air port alone and yet surrounded by people.
Visiting my sister in law, niece, and nephew.
This is the cute girl I met in Salt Lake City.
Ahh, the life of this fifteen year old never seems to get boring.(which I am extremely glad of)  I most recently visited my sister and brother in law down in CA.  Had a ton of fun despite having my collar bone broken by one of the most excellently designed and created waves of the pacific.  Every time I visit the ocean I discover that I love it more and some new thing about it impresses me.  This time it was the thing that broke my collar bone that impressed me(no not compressed, even though it did that also).  The wave is so beautiful and so powerful, and it reminds us of the fact that there is someone who keeps the world going.  Waves are constantly moving in, building up, and breaking over themselves.  And they have been doing that since the world began with the same bone breaking power.
Now another thing I did down in CA besides marveling at waves was I visited sea world(ton of fun), visited friends(ton of fun), and celebrated Josiah's birthday and the 4th of July(ton of fun) and of course that was not all but just gives you an idea of how tough my life is.  OH, One more thing if you ever get a chance to go snorkeling...      Go.
It is amazing to breath and look around under water in the ocean.  Though seeing a couple one foot sharks is a little freaky, even if they pose no threat.
Besides living on vacation I have been sort of thankful for broken collar bone, it slows life down a little and allows time for some much needed reading, carving(which has not happened in eons it seems), running, and just chilling which comes in many different forms, such as fishing, playing games, hiking etc...
Sorry about the mixed up form and the sparsity of pictures, but that indicates I was having fun.

Put Your Hands in the Air

Life is so great...   really it is.  I have so much to do and so much to look forward to, that I often forget I am doing stuff I have looked forward to.  Whether it is seeing my seeds that I plooped in the ground with care come oozing out of the ground as plants or learning how to divide a polynomial.  Sure there are the dampening moments when things don't go "your" way,( AH heaven forbid).  Actually there is a song called Through Heavens Eye's that offers some interesting insights on the matter of dampening moments.  And speaking of damp moments went camping this past weekend and it rained a little.  But it was a ton of fun.  Cards, hikes, marshmallows, rocks and all that really fun stuff.  I discovered that I am specific and decisive...    and those things I think.
My summer has gone really well so far and hope it will continue on the same course.  My garden as mentioned above is growing and the rabbits who had the effrontery to eat my pepper plants seem to not be appreciating the 22 rifle and liquid fence that awaits them each time they show their oversized ears near my garden.   Oh, and the definition of satisfaction shows up in well hoed garden or in a thistle that comes out root and all.
Well I must work tomorrow and do not want to do it while half asleep.
Good Noight,

Chip

He has Risen

Well it has been one amazing holy week.  I find it incredible how God lets us think we have got him figured out and then he shows us some new amazing thing about him.  First with the passing on of a friend into heaven and the way that we can rejoice in his being saved and in his life on earth.  And how we can rejoice because of what our God did for us, and what we celebrate on Easter.  Now I am not going to preach a sermon, but I would like to share a picture, and yes it is of something in space, but it is amazing.

This is a picture of the very center of the whirlpool galaxy over 23 million light
years away.   Now I think we serve a incredible, amazing, cool, wondrous,etc....     God.
And he died and rose again for me?
